Adnan Menderes, who was born as a child of a farmer family in Aydın, had also implemented very important investments in agricultural production and agriculture-based industry in Turkey during his Prime Ministry period in the 1950s.
One of these important steps was the establishment of GÜBRETAŞ, the first chemical fertilizer company in our country. Following the establishment of GÜBRETAŞ in order to increase productivity in agriculture by the decision of the Council of Ministers dated November 6, 1952, our first factory started production in Iskenderun in 1954.
Although Menderes and his friends, who pioneered the breakthroughs in domestic and national production in our country, were dismissed with the coup on May 27, 1960, the seeds they planted throughout Anatolia in this field continued to germinate and grow and continue to contribute to Turkey's economic development even today.
We commemorate the late Adnan Menderes and his friends, who drew attention to the importance of agriculture for Turkey with the words "We find the development of the country in the cause of agriculture", once again with gratitude, mercy and gratitude on the anniversary of May 27.
