The 73rd Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of GÜBRETAŞ has concluded. Held at the company’s headquarters, the meeting was attended by board members, company executives, and shareholders.
In the opening remarks of the 73rd General Assembly, General Manager Aytaç Onkun highlighted key points from his evaluation of the year. He stated that despite a relative normalization in global markets and international commodity prices last year, the negative impact of war and tensions combined with other regional and global imbalances. As a result of this pressure, cost elements in the sector remained above long-term averages. To shield the company from the negative effects of global developments in supply and production, they took swift and effective actions in procurement and established strategic task forces.
Touching on investments and facility modernization efforts, Onkun said that thanks to modernization efforts at the İzmir facilities and domestic investments, they achieved a 70% increase in total production capacity. As a result, the İzmir facility has become the main hub for the liquid and powder product group, which focuses on high-efficiency and highly competitive products. Additionally, within the scope of the warehouse investment at the Kocaeli facilities, which includes Yarımca Port, 20,000 m² of the total 35,000 m² project area has been completed. This development is expected to significantly boost their storage operations. He added that as a result of their R&D activities, which they see as the cornerstone of sustainable growth and innovation, they continue to offer producers a portfolio of new and highly competitive products.
Onkun concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude to the Board of Directors, their main shareholder Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, all colleagues whose devoted work adds value to the company, business partners, farmers, and stakeholders. He emphasized that in 2025, GÜBRETAŞ will continue to fulfill its responsibilities toward the sustainability of agriculture in the country, with a focus on scientific advancement and technology. He closed by extending his respectful greetings to all.
