We started to implement our R&D studies for the future of agriculture in our R&D center in Yarımca in 2018, a 10-year protocol was signed with Gebze Technical University in 2019, a greenhouse was opened on the university campus in 2020, and then a microbiology laboratory was opened in the R&D center.

Our General Manager Aytaç Onkun stated that the protocol we signed with GTÜ in 2019 to establish R&D, P&D and education-oriented cooperation in the field of plant nutrition is one of the important steps for the sustainability of agricultural production in our country.

WE OBTAINED STRONG DATA IN TRIAL PLANTINGS

Our General Manager, Aytaç Onkun, said: Aware of the great importance of R&D for the future of agriculture, we started to implement R&D studies at the R&D center in Yarımca in May 2018. We took joint steps to turn some of the goals set in our cooperation protocol into practice in a short time.

Thus, an R&D greenhouse was created that we can all be proud of, from the agricultural sector to the academic community. Within the scope of the protocol, we have undertaken the role of R&D greenhouse dynamo in achieving the goals of reducing foreign dependency in fertilizer production and developing domestic plant nutrition products.

MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY WAS ESTABLISHED WITH THIS COOPERATION

Our General Manager Aytaç Onkun said that in addition to the greenhouse, we are also carrying out studies and joint training activities step by step towards the development of publicly supported joint R&D projects with Gebze Technical University, and said: “I think that we will carry out exemplary studies and innovations with the university in this cooperation process that will last until 2029.

Thanks to these initiated projects, new rings were added to GÜBRETAŞ's innovation efforts. With the acceptance of the TÜBİTAK Industrial PhD Project, which we applied jointly with GTÜ, the microbiology laboratory in Yarımca started its operations.

In our work with GTÜ, our GÜBRETAŞ R&D center is valuable for students pursuing their doctoral education in terms of gaining industry experience as well as academic skills.

We also aim for our program participant students to be a part of GÜBRETAŞ's R&D culture in the long term.
