In addition to its products and services aimed at increasing productivity in agriculture, GÜBRETAŞ continues to lead the sector with its social responsibility projects based on social benefit.

In order to reforest the areas damaged by the fires started by the separatist terrorist organization in Hatay last October, GÜBRETAŞ planted 11 thousand 111 new saplings with the planting ceremony held in İskenderun district, where it established its first production facilities in 1954.

The company, which previously created commemorative forests in Konya and Istanbul-Şile, contributes to the growth of more than 25 thousand trees in total with the 11 thousand 111 new saplings it brought to the Hatay region in memory of its 69th anniversary.

GÜBRETAŞ, which was established in 1952 with the aim of supplying plant nutrition products, one of the important inputs of agriculture, to producers in order to increase agricultural productivity in our country, continues to support its leadership in the sector with its social responsibility activities.

In this context, the company has been actively pursuing social responsibility projects focused on education and the environment, especially in the last 15 years. Major projects such as the Turkey Soil Fertility Map Project launched in 2006, the GÜBRETAŞ Education Scholarship support given to farmer children studying in agricultural faculties since 2007, the schools built in Hatay's İskenderun and Kocaeli's Başiskele districts in memory of the company's 60th anniversary, as well as the GÜBRETAŞ Memorial Forest applications. The company's social benefit activities continue with projects. Aiming to leave a better world to future generations with a soil and environmentally friendly approach, GÜBRETAŞ created memorial forests in Konya in 2008 and in Istanbul-Şile in 2014.

GÜBRETAŞ took a new step this time in the Iskenderun region, where it established Turkey's first fertilizer factory in 1954. A Memorial Forest was established in Iskenderun in memory of the 69th anniversary of GÜBRETAŞ, with the aim of reforesting and greening the areas damaged by the fires started by the separatist terrorist organization in Hatay last autumn. 11 thousand 111 saplings were planted in the ceremony held in the Sarıseki region of İskenderun, where the company's first factory and facilities are located.

GENERAL MANAGER YUMAKLI: “WE ADD VALUE TO THIS LAND WITH THE POWER WE GET FROM THIS LAND”

Speaking at the GÜBRETAŞ Memorial Forest sapling planting ceremony, General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı reminded that GÜBRETAŞ, founded during the Adnan Menderes period, started production with its factory in Iskenderun as the first seed planted in these lands, and stated that in the past 69 years, the company has taken root and grown throughout the country with its investments and turned into a huge tree. General Manager Yumaklı said, "GÜBRETAŞ tree, which is the company of Turkey's largest farmer family Tarım Kredi; As of today, it continues to spread its branches all over the country and bear fruit with its production facilities in 2 provinces, 4 laboratories, 5 logistics centers, 8 regional directorates and around 2750 sales points throughout Turkey. "So much so that the branches of this tree, which was first planted in Iskenderun, have extended to the world with the foreign investments and exports it has made in recent years," he said.

Stating that they summarize their work in the field of social responsibility, which the company has been carrying out with the mission of benefiting the society since its establishment, with the motto "We add value to these lands", İbrahim Yumaklı said, "One of the issues that GÜBRETAŞ pioneers in the sector is social responsibility projects. GÜBRETAŞ, which acts with the approach of adding value to this land with the strength it derives from the lands of this country, carries out social responsibility activities especially focused on education and the environment. "We continue to add value to these lands with the schools we have built in the field of education and the GÜBRETAŞ Education Scholarship, which many agricultural faculty students and farmer children benefit from every year, the Turkey Soil Fertility Map project that we have been carrying out since 2006 for sustainability in agriculture, and our different activities to popularize conscious agriculture," he said.

MORE THAN 25 THOUSAND SEEDLINGS WERE PLANT IN GÜBRETAŞ MEMORIAL FORESTS IN 13 YEARS

Emphasizing that the company also carries out social projects to leave a more beautiful environment to future generations, Yumaklı said, "The 14 thousand saplings that we planted in the GÜBRETAŞ Memorial Forest areas, which we established in Konya in 2008 and in Istanbul-Şile in 2014, have now grown and turned into trees. With the new GÜBRETAŞ Memorial Forest in Iskenderun, where we planted 11 thousand 111 more saplings, we have increased the total number of trees we planted throughout Turkey to over 25 thousand. "We aim to increase this to 100-200 thousand in the coming years," he said.

Pointing out that the new saplings planted will be inherited by children after 15-20 years, İbrahim Yumaklı said, “The fire that lasted for 20 hours in the region took away the savings of 20 years, which is very sad. We need to learn from this. "I wish it had not been burned down and we had placed it on top of it, I wish it had not been demolished and another brick had been placed on top of it," he concluded his words by thanking those who contributed to the realization of the memorial forest.

İSKENDERUN DISTRICT GOVERNOR İSKENDER ĞDEN: “WE THANK GÜBRETAŞ FOR ITS INVESTMENTS AND SOCIAL PROJECTS”

Speaking at the ceremony, Iskenderun District Governor İskender Yönden said that they fought intensively with all public teams to extinguish the fire during the forest fires. Reminding that there were various speculations about the burned areas at that time, Yönden stated that they started working to green the areas as soon as possible. İskender Yönden said, “We were very sad when this fire happened, but we will plant more trees on these lands than those burned. GÜBRETAŞ continues to contribute to İskenderun with its facilities and investments, the schools it has built, and such social projects. "I would like to thank the GÜBRETAŞ family for this meaningful support," he said.

After the speeches, a plaque was presented to the speakers by General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı in memory of the day. After the prayer made by Iskenderun Mufti Osman Şekerci, the guests, together with GÜBRETAŞ Secondary School students, planted the first saplings and gave them life.
