GÜBRETAŞ shared this deep-rooted corporate knowledge in the sector with the producers at its stand at Growtech Eurasia, Turkey's largest agricultural fair, held in Antalya between 27-30 November 2019. GÜBRETAŞ's stand in the 3rd hall, which determined this year's fair motto as "We are with you for conscious agriculture", attracted great attention with the campaigns and competitions that continued throughout the fair.

Supporting producers everywhere for agricultural consultancy: 41 thousand producers reached in 11 months

GÜBRETAŞ, which has been leading agricultural education for years in order to spread conscious agriculture and raise awareness among producers, aims to increase the power of knowledge in agriculture by emphasizing the importance of soil analysis and conscious plant nutrition in terms of agricultural production in these meetings.

Within the scope of the free agricultural consultancy services provided by GÜBRETAŞ in the field, nearly 41 thousand producers were reached at approximately 4,400 points in the first 11 months of this year.

In this context, GÜBRETAŞ expert agricultural engineers, who carried out land observation and prescription studies at more than 2,800 points across Turkey in 2019, provided one-on-one information support to more than 7,300 producers on their land. This year, nearly 30 thousand producers and agricultural engineers attended the training and information meetings organized by GÜBRETAŞ at more than 1,500 points, from village coffeehouses to halls in provincial centers. In addition, around 4,600 producers had the opportunity to see and examine the results of model production field applications in GÜBRETAŞ's field and garden day events.

High efficiency examples with model production areas

GÜBRETAŞ, which established model production areas in several parts of Turkey every year until 2017 to demonstrate the benefits of conscious agriculture and effective fertilization programs, has taken its mission of popularizing conscious agriculture to the next level by focusing on these "role model" practices, especially in the last two years. In this context, trial planting areas were created for agricultural products widely produced in our country, from cotton to sunflower, from hazelnuts to olives and from corn to sugar beet. These model applications, which were carried out in 18 locations across Turkey in 2018, increased further and reached 30 locations in 2019.

GÜBRETAŞ, which carried out sample studies for different plant products in Turkey this year, shared the results obtained in model areas where plant nutrition programs based on soil analysis are implemented with conscious producers in the region through activities during the harvest period.

In these lands, where the plant nutrition programs prepared by GÜBRETAŞ in the light of scientific data were applied, very high efficiency and quality were achieved compared to the Turkish average. Within the scope of model production area applications carried out in 2019, the yield of hazelnut harvests in Samsun and olives in Balıkesir was 4 times the Turkey average, and the yield of the corn harvest in Kahramanmaraş was 2 times the average. In addition, in the sugar beet application in Konya's Çumra district, a 60 percent yield increase was achieved compared to Turkey's yield average, in the sunflower harvest in Konya-Altınekin, a 40 percent increase in yield, and in the potato farming model application in Niğde, an increase of over 35 percent was achieved.

GÜBRETAŞ aims to continue its efforts to demonstrate with examples that maximum efficiency can be achieved by using optimum fertilizer in the amount needed by the soil, thanks to model production area applications, in the coming years.

Agricultural consultancy service is just a phone call away

GÜBRETAŞ also supports the agricultural consultancy service it provides in training meetings and in the field with consultancy lines operating as a call center. Through the Producer Advisory Line and Whatsapp Advisory Line, which GÜBRETAŞ took over last year, producers can receive information support from expert agricultural engineers by calling these lines wherever and whenever they want.

There has been a significant increase in the number of producers sending questions to GÜBRETAŞ agricultural engineers through the Ask an Expert section of the mobile application and through the hotlines, compared to last year. The questions of 5,500 producers regarding agricultural production in the first 11 months of 2019 were answered by GÜBRETAŞ agricultural engineers through the hotlines.
