GÜBRETAŞ, whose foundations were laid in 1952 with the aim of increasing efficiency and quality in the country's agriculture; It celebrated its 70th anniversary. The program, attended by the company's senior management and employees, Petrol-İş Union President and managers, and KİPLAS General Secretary, was held at Yarımca Facilities, the company's production and R&D base.
Founded on November 6, 1952, with the signature of the then Prime Minister Adnan Menderes and the Council of Ministers, GÜBRETAŞ has been adding value to the country's agriculture with its products and services for 70 years.

GÜBRETAŞ is the first institution to produce chemical fertilizer in our country with the NPK facility it established in Iskenderun in 1954; It currently serves producers in the field of production and supply of plant nutrition products needed by farmers with its solid fertilizer production facilities in Yarımca, Kocaeli and liquid-powder fertilizer production facilities in Izmir. By using conscious plant nutrition methods in agricultural production, it contributes to increased productivity and quality with the model production areas project and prescription services it carries out with producers.

GÜBRETAŞ's 70th anniversary was celebrated at Yarımca Facilities, the company's production and R&D base. In addition to the company's senior management and employees, the President and managers of the Petrol-İş Union and the Secretary General of KİPLAS also attended the celebration.

GÜBRETAŞ General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı stated the following regarding the 70th anniversary of the company:

“The foundations of GÜBRETAŞ were laid like a seed on these lands in 1952. Since then, GÜBRETAŞ has turned into a plane tree taking root in these lands with its activities carried out in every part of the country and the products and services it offers for agricultural production.”

General Manager Yumaklı stated that its 70-year deep-rooted history places great responsibilities on GÜBRETAŞ:

“The establishment of GÜBRETAŞ was signed by the then Prime Minister Adnan Menderes and the Council of Ministers. This pioneering role of our company in the sector, which was established to increase efficiency and quality in Turkish agriculture, imposes important responsibilities on us. "We continue all our activities with the responsibility of being a pioneer," he said.

General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı touched upon the place of GÜBRETAŞ in agricultural production;

“Thirty out of every hundred bags of fertilizer used in agricultural production lands in our country have GÜBRETAŞ's logo. Our quality policy and customer satisfaction approach are appreciated by end consumers.

Because the supply of fertilizer, which is the most basic need to ensure the continuity of crop production, means that everyone has access to food. "In this regard, we are rapidly continuing our investment efforts to improve both our production and infrastructure, as well as our logistics and operational activities," he said.

TURKEY'S FIRST FERTILIZER FACTORY WILL PRODUCE AGAIN

In his congratulatory speech, General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı talked about the investments completed in the last 5 years as follows:

“With the awareness of being an institution that has contributed to the development of agricultural production in these lands for 70 years, we are increasing our production target every year. Our top priority is to ensure that our producers can supply all the plant nutrition products they need. In the last 5 years; While we commissioned the new NPK/DAP Facility with a capacity of 500 thousand tons in Yarımca Facilities, we increased the capacity of our liquid-powder production facilities in Izmir by 4 times. We added an ammonia tank to our Yarımca Facilities. The first phase of our Port Expansion Project at Yarımca Facilities has been completed. "In addition, in order to increase our storage and logistics capabilities, we opened the logistics center in Samsun in 2017 and in Iskenderun in 2019." said.

General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı: “In the past months, we gave the good news that we will re-commission Turkey's first fertilizer factory in our İskenderun Facilities. We aim to complete the new NPK production facility with a modern and environmentally friendly infrastructure with a capacity of 200 thousand tons per year in 2023. "With the commissioning of the facility, our current production capacity will increase and a new employment area will be provided for the region," he said.

“OUR R&D MOTIVATION IS TO PRODUCE NEW VALUE”

Stating that they support their investment activities in order to increase production with R&D studies in the field of plant nutrition, General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı said: “Our production capacity and target are increasing day by day. We support this production increase with our R&D studies. We are aware that the greatest value today is generating an idea and putting the idea into action. Therefore, our R&D studies continue with the motivation to produce new value by transforming theory into a concrete output. In addition to the projects carried out by GÜBRETAŞ R&D Center with various stakeholders; "We are strengthening our sectoral and academic infrastructure with the R&D protocols we signed within the scope of university-industry cooperation," he said.

“GÜBRETAŞ joined the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives family in 1993. Since then, these two well-established institutions continue to provide significant added value for both the agricultural sector and the national economy in strong cooperation.
It is the sole supplier of chemical fertilizers to Agricultural Credit Cooperatives with its chief dealer agreement that has been ongoing since 2001. GÜBRETAŞ has an important role in this field as it is the company of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives in the field of plant nutrition. "GÜBRETAŞ, which guarantees product availability in the sector within the framework of cooperation, maintains supply management for the whole year and ensures balance in the sector to benefit our producers, is a well-established institution that contributes to sustainable agricultural production," he said.
